| 1971-72, "Summer Corn," watercolor. I lived in the rich farmland of Illinois. The pattern of corn leaves inspired this painting.
| 1971-72, "Violets," watercolor. The ditch grass along country roads was full of flowers. I had special interest in abandoned farmsteads against the prairie.
| 1971-72, "Illinois Summer," watercolor. Corn and peonies grew in profusion.
| 1971-72, "Taylor and Lacas Streets," watercolor. Old houses have always attracted me. Here, the surveyor's stake is in the front yard. The landscape is surrounded by protective amulets, jade dragons and plant forms from Chinese ceramics.
| 1973-74, "Sutter County," watercolor. Inspired by the California almond growing area near Marysville, plus jade and lapis lazuli in San Francisco.
